Dear friends, colleagues and supporters,
We're writing to update you about the future of Thinking Development and the Centre Rosalie.
As you know, the new disaster-resilient Centre Rosalie girls' school successfully opened last year, after years of long-term disaster-recovery planning with the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny, schoolchildren and local community.
Now, the time has come for us to hand the project over to the Sisters. To ensure a smooth transition, we have been working closely with volunteers from Fidesco (long-standing support workers at other Cluny schools in Haiti), who will oversee the project management from now on.
Due to these developments, our Board of Directors has agreed that Thinking Development will formally cease operations as a UK registered charity in May 2017.
What this means for you:
- To enable supporters to keep in touch with the Centre Rosalie in the future, the existing Thinking Development Facebook page will be transferred to, and managed by, the school.
- All other Thinking Development online content will be preserved for reference.
- Our e-book will be freely available for reference, for supporters, practitioners, academics and general public.
- Future donations can be made directly to the school (look out for details on the Facebook page).
We have always been a 100% volunteer-run charity, and we would like to express our enormous thanks to all the dedicated individuals and organisations that have donated countless hours over the last 7 years to make these achievements possible.
Finally, thank you: for donating, spreading the word, sharing your expertise and networks, attending our events, and believing in thinking development.
With sincere thanks and best wishes to all,
From everyone at Thinking Development
