Anna is a geospatial analyst. She is undertaking an EngD in Urban Sustainability and Resilience at University College London. Her research on earthquake response and recovery has provided first hand experience of the complex rebuilding challenges faced by affected communities. Anna is a member of the UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction and first supported Thinking Development by running a Haiti week workshop in 2010 titled ‘Google, Twitter, maps and mobile phones: A tech revolution for disaster response’ which gathered academic and professional participants together to explore the surge of social media and mapping technologies being utilised for disaster risk reduction. Anna also belongs to the UCL Earthquake and People Interaction Centre (EPICentre) and has volunteered for the NGO, MapAction, since 2007 to provide emergency mapping support in disaster zones. She recently joined the Thinking Development board.
